The ECS Malta 2023, a cricket tournament conducted by the European Cricket Network, will commence on January 30, 2023. Similar to the previous edition, all the matches will be conducted at the Marsa Sports Club in Marsa, Malta.
The 2023 edition will feature 10 teams - Bugibba Blasters, Gozo CC, Gozo Zalmi, Marsa, Msida Warriors, Mater Dei, Royal Strikers, Southern Crusaders, Swieqi United and Victoria Lions.
Gozo Zalmi will take on Mater Dei in the tournament’s curtain raiser. Victoria Lions and Gozo Zalmi replace Edex Knights and Overseas CC from the previous edition of ECS Malta.
Meanwhile, the ECS Malta 2023 will consist of 98 matches. The league stage format has been tweaked this season. While previously the teams were divided into two groups, in the 2023 edition, there is only one group.
There are a total of 90 league stage matches, where each team will play 18 games in a double round-robin format. The top eight teams will feature in the quarter-finals. The four quarters, two semis, the bronze final and the final are the playoff fixtures, concluding on February 25.
Marsa and Edex Knights shared the ECS Malta 2022 trophy after the final was abandoned. Meanwhile, Msida Warriors beat Bugibba Blasters in the bronze final of the previous edition.
Super Kings won the ECS Malta T10 2021, however, they haven’t made an appearance in the tournament since.

There will be no telecast of the ECS Malta 2023 in India.
