Ousmane Dembele and Lionel Messi were on target as Barcelona defeated a Cristiano Ronaldo-less Juventus in the UEFA Champions League. Fans were eager to see both Ronaldo and Messi crossing swords once again, but a third positive virus test means the Portuguese was forced to watch his team from home. Barcelona were quick to pounce on the opportunity and took to Twitter to take a sweet jibe at their Wednesday's opponent, saying, "We are glad you were able to see the real goat on your pitch."

Juventus, who not only missed Ronaldo, but were also without Giorgio Chiellini and Matthijs de Ligt, responded with a cheeky reply, saying, "You probably looked it up in the wrong dictionary. We'll bring you the right one at Camp Nou."

Both Juventus and Barcelona were at each other even before the kick-off. The Catalan club took a sneak by mentioning they are looking forward to seeing Messi on their pitch. To which the Turin-based club said they would rather watch their left-footed Argentine, Paulo Dybala. The banter didn't stop there, to say the least. Referring to Dybala's infamous 'mask celebration' Barcelona reacted with Neymar's goal during the 2015 Champions League final. The exchange went for a little while before both agreed to settle the matter.

Barcelona eventually had the last laugh as they put two past Juventus to win their second game of this year's UEFA Champions League. As for Ronaldo, he was asymptomatic when he first tested positive for the virus and has been self-isolating at home in Italy since. He was tested positive last Thursday and again on Tuesday which forced him to sit out of the game.
