One of India’s biggest esports events, the Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2023 registration started on July 24 and the BGIS 2023 registration last date is August 2.

Organised by video game holding company Krafton, the second season of Battlegrounds Mobile India Series has a total prize pool of INR 2 crore, while the winner will be rewarded with a cash prize of INR 75 lakh.

The second-placed and third-placed squads will receive a cash prize of INR 37.5 lakh and INR 25 lakh respectively.

BGIS 2023 schedule and dates

Interested participants must register for Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2023 before the deadline on August 2.

After the registration, the BGIS 2023 in-game qualifiers will start on August 10 and conclude on August 16.

The BGIS 2023 online qualifiers are scheduled to be held from August 31 to September 17.

As per the BGIS 2023 schedule, the quarter-finals and losers bracket will take place from September 21 to October 1. The semi-finals will be held from October 4-7.

The BGIS 2023 grand finals will be a three-day affair from October 12-14.

BGIS 2023 eligibility 

According to the BGIS 2023 eligibility, only teams with complete squads (four players or up to six players), who have entered the correct details will be eligible to advance. All accounts need to be above level 25 and tier Platinum V (Squad Mode). 

If the interested teams have met the following requirements, they are good to proceed to participate in in-game qualifiers.

BGIS 2023 format

A total of 2048 teams will compete in BGIS 2023 online qualifiers. In Round 1, these 2048 teams have been divided into 128 groups of 16 teams each.

The top three teams from each group along with the 96 best ranked teams (Placement Points + Finish Points) will advance to Round 2. Others will be eliminated.

As many as 512 teams will battle in BGIS 2023 online qualifiers Round 2. These 512 teams comprise 384+96 qualified Round 1 teams alongside the bottom 32 Grind invited teams.

Meanwhile, a total of 256 teams will participate in BGIS 2023 online qualifiers Round 3. A total of 224 teams from Round 2 are joined by the Top 32 Grind invited teams. These 256 teams are divided into 16 groups of 16 teams each. Top four teams from each group will qualify for the quarter-finals and teams in positions 65 to 80 will go to the losers bracket. Others will be knocked out.

In BGIS 2023 quarter finals, 64 teams will battle for a spot in the semi-finals. These 64 teams will be split into four groups. Top four teams from each group of the 16 participants qualify for the semi-finals. The remaining 48 teams move to the losers bracket.

In the BGIS 2023 losers bracket, 64 teams including the 16 teams from Round 3 and 48 teams from quarter-finals will compete. Here, the teams will be divided into four groups of 16 each and the top four teams from each group (Total 16 teams) advance to the semi-finals.

As many as 32 teams will clash in the BGIS 2023 semi-finals. A total of 16 teams from quarter-finals and 16 teams from losers bracket. The teams will be split into four groups of eight and each team will play the other side in the group in a round-robin format. The top 16 teams advance to the Grand Finals.

In the marquee BGIS 2023 Grand Finals, the 16 teams from the semi-finals will lock horns. As many as 18 matches will be held to determine the BGIS 2023 winner.
