While Velocity are yet to play a match this campaign, Supernovas kicked off their Women’s T20 Challenge campaign with an impressive 49-run win over Trailblazers. Led by their maverick captain Harmanpreet Kaur, the side posted 163 runs, riding on quickfire knocks by Deandra Dottin (32 off 17 balls) and Harleen Deol (35 off 19 balls).

In response, Trailblazers could only muster 114/9 runs in 20 overs. Pooja Vastrakar picked four wickets for 12 runs in four overs. Just four of the 11 Trailblazers batters managed to score runs in double digits, with captain Smriti Mandhana scoring the most (34 runs) for her team.

As for Velocity, their last appearance in the Women’s T20 Challenge dates back to 2020 when they squared off against Trailblazers in match 2. They lost the game by nine wickets.
