The women’s 25m pistol shooting event at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics will have India’s Manu Bhaker and Rahi Sarnobat compete to take home the honours on Friday, July 30. The event will be held at the Asaka Shooting Range.

The 25m pistol event is split into two qualifying rounds - the precision and the rapid. The points are added from both the rounds following which the top eight shooters progress into the finals.  After the precision round on Thursday, which saw Manu Bhaker and Rahi Sarnobat finish 5th and 25th respectively, the rapid round will be held on Friday.

Bhaker tallied 292 after 30 shots on target in the precision round, sharing her score with the 10m pistol Russia gold medallist Vitalina Batsarashkina and mixed team pistol bronze medallist Olena Kostevych of Ukraine. Rahi Sarnobat, on the other hand, aggregated 287.

World no. 2 Sarnobat had pipped Bhaker to win gold at the 2021 ISSF World Cup in New Delhi in June 2021. This will be her second Olympic appearance since the London 2012 Olympics.
