The Pro Kabaddi 2021 auction on the first day turned out to be a subdued affair as only four players from the New Young Players (NYP) category were picked by three teams on Sunday.

Puneri Paltan picked two players while Telugu Titans and U.P. Yoddha signed a player each.

All-rounder Nitin Panwar was grabbed by U.P. Yoddha. Telugu Titans, meanwhile, acquired the services of cover defender Prince to add to their retained defensive trio of Manish, Akash Choudhary and Aakash Dattu Arsul.

Puneri Paltan bagged raider Mohit Goyat and all-rounder Govind Gurjar to conclude the proceedings on the first day of the Pro Kabaddi Season 8 auction. The addition of the duo has bolstered the raiding unit of Pune, who will now look to get their defensive unit strong in the next two days of the auction.

The second day of the Pro Kabaddi auction will feature domestic and overseas category players with some big names like Rahul Chaudhari, Pardeep Narwal and Ajay Thakur up for grabs.

Prior to the auction, the 12 teams had retained 59 players with Jaipur Pink Panthers holding on to seven, the maximum number by any team.
