Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) will take on Nantes in the Trophée des Champions 2022 at the Bloomfield Stadium in Tel Aviv, Israel on Sunday. The match will start at 11:30 PM IST (Indian Standard Time).
Trophée des Champions is the French Super Cup, an annual one-off match played between the winners of the Ligue 1 and the Coupe de France.
The star-studded PSG booked their place in the Trophée des Champions after clinching their 10th Ligue 1 title last season. Under former manager Mauricio Pochettino, PSG finished at the top of the Ligue 1 2021-22 standings with 86 points from 38 matches, 15 points clear of second-placed Marseille.
On the other hand, Nantes qualified for the French Super Cup after they beat Nice 1-0 in the Coupe de France 2021-22 final at Stade de France in May.
Under the tutelage of newly-appointed manager Christophe Galtier, PSG showcased great form during their pre-season, winning all four matches. The Ligue 1 champions secured victories over Quevilly-Rouen, Kawasaki Frontale, Urawa Reds and Gamba Osaka.
While football superstars Lionel Messi and Neymar are expected to feature for PSG against Nantes, the French champions will miss the services of their star forward Kylian Mbappe due to suspension.
Meanwhile, Antoine Kombouaré’s FC Nantes have registered two wins and two losses in their four pre-season friendlies.
Interestingly, Nantes have had an edge over PSG in recent fixtures across competitions.

PSG have a dominant head-to-head record against Nantes across all competitions, winning 25 of the 31 matches that they have played so far.
However, Nantes have won two of their last three matches against PSG.
The last time these two sides met, Nantes defeated PSG 3-1 at home in their Ligue 1 fixture in February.
