Having already qualified for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Netherlands host former world champions Germany in an international friendly at Amsterdam ArenA in the early hours of Wednesday, March 30. The match will kick off at 12:15 AM IST.

The Oranje do not really have much to worry about on the injury front, but what can indeed be expected are the plausible returns of Georginio Wijnaldum, Arnaut Danjuma and Donyell Malen in the starting XI.

Germany, on the other hand, are once again set to be without Serge Gnabry, Karim Adeyemi and Robin Koch. Furthermore, there’s also no confirmation on whether or not Joshua Kimmich will return. The Bayern Munich defensive midfielder missed the win over Israel due to the birth of his child.

Netherlands vs Germany recent form

Netherlands, who recently defeated Denmark 4-2, haven’t lost a game since their elimination from the round of 16 of Euro 2020 at hands of Czech Republic in June 2021. Since then, the team has won six of their last eight matches. During this time, they have scored 26 goals while conceding a mere six.

As for Germany, even their last defeat on the international stage dates back to their 0-2 loss to England in Euro 2020. Since that defeat, the Die Mannschaft have gone on an eight-match winning streak. This includes a 9-0 win over Liechtenstein and a 6-0 thumping of Armenia.

Netherlands vs Germany head to head

Netherlands and Germany haven’t crossed paths since September 2019 when the two sides met in a Euro 2020 qualifier. Goals from Frenkie de Jong, Malen, Wijnaldum and an own goal from Jonathan Tah had guided the Oranje to a 4-2 win back then.

Since their first-ever meeting in 1910, the teams have played each other on 44 occasions, with Germany winning 16 and Netherlands securing 12 victories. As many as 16 matches have been drawn.

Netherlands vs Germany prediction for the international friendly 2022

Despite this being an international friendly, one can rightly expect the game to be an absolute goal-fest since each of their last four meetings have had a definite winner. In fact, both teams have scored at least two goals in their last three matches.

Now, the odds are indeed competitive and it’s only given since both teams have enjoyed a great run of form in recent times. However, what we expect is a win for Die Mannschaft.
