The dates for the Indian Super League 2021-22 playoffs were announced on Thursday, February 17, with the Football Sports Development Limited (FSDL) confirming that the first leg of the semi-final rounds will be played on March 11 and 12 while the return leg will take place on March 15 and 16.

Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda will host the ISL 2021-22 final on Sunday, March 20.

The league phase of the competition has each side playing 20 games and the team finishing on top will be crowned as the League Shield winners. Like the previous season, The winning team will get a direct group-stage entry into the AFC Champions League next season.

Furthermore, it is interesting to note that the away-goal rule will not be applicable in the semi-finals this season. This means the team with the highest aggregate score will advance to the final.

The ongoing season of the Indian Super League has prove to be the most competitive of all, with as many as nine teams still in contention to finish within the top four. As of today, Hyderabad FC continue to top the ISL standings and are followed by ATK Mohun Bagan, Kerala Blasters and Jamshedpur FC in the top four.

Defending champions Mumbai City FC have picked the pace following a mid-season slump as they sit fifth in the standings.
