Manchester United will lock horns with FC Sheriff in a UEFA Europa League 2022-23 Group E fixture on Friday, October 28. The match is scheduled to commence at 12:30 AM Indian Standard Time (IST).
With three wins and a solitary defeat, the Red Devils are currently second in the Group E table with nine points. They need one point from their remaining two group fixtures to ensure their qualification to the knockout stages.
The Erik ten Hag-coached side is on a six-match unbeaten run in all competitions, winning four and drawing two since the humiliating 6-3 loss against Manchester City.
This match-up could also see Cristiano Ronaldo return to the side after being dropped from the first team in the 1-1 draw against Chelsea following a walk-out against Tottenham Hotspur on October 20.
On the other hand, FC Sheriff have won eight out of the 12 matches and sit six points clear at top of their Moldovan league table.
However, they haven’t been able to replicate their domestic form in the Europa League. After four fixtures, they sit third with just a solitary win and three defeats. They started the campaign on a bright note with a 3-0 win over Omonia Nicosia, but have been underwhelming since then.
Nonetheless, they are not completely out of the European Competition. They too need a point from their remaining two games to go through to seal a spot in the UEFA Europa Conference League knockout rounds.

Jadon Sancho opened the scoring before Cristiano Ronaldo clinched the win from the penalty spot, with both goals coming before half-time.
