The Indian Super League (ISL) 2020-21 has reached the business end of the tournament with only Mumbai City FC and ATK Mohun Bagan looking almost certain to make the top four.

With only four more matchweeks to go, a set of teams are vying for the final two play-off slots.

On the other hand, Premier League 2020-21 matches continue to come thick and fast at this time of the year with matchweek 24 scheduled to kick-off at the weekend.

The two most followed football leagues in India have produced some unexpected results and epic matches, making it difficult for the punters. However, here are some statistics that might help you in one way or the other.

Mumbai City FC vs FC Goa

Table-toppers Mumbai City FC will look to do the double over FC Goa in the ongoing edition of the ISL at the GMC Stadium on Monday.

Under the tutelage of Sergio Lobera, Mumbai have clearly dominated the league this season, winning 10 of the 15 matches played this season. They have drawn three and lost only two matches in ISL 7.

On the other hand, FC Goa have been pretty inconsistent this season, securing only five victories in 15 matches. Juan Ferrando’s men have drawn seven encounters and lost three of those matches.

However, the Gaurs are still in for a top four finish and they are just one point behind third-placed Hyderabad FC and fourth-placed NorthEast United, with a game in hand.

While Mumbai had defeated Goa 1-0 in the first game when they faced each other in ISL 2020-21, the Gaurs have led the Mumbai City FC vs FC Goa head-to-head record 7-5. Three of the 15 matches between Mumbai and Goa have ended in a stalemate.

Lobera’s men will clearly start as favourites in the upcoming clash against Goa on Monday.

Player to watch: Igor Angulo

FC Goa forward Igor Angulo was leading the ISL 7 Golden Boot race with 10 goals for a long time before ATK Mohun Bagan talisman Roy Krishna (11 goals) overtook him with a brace against Odisha FC on Saturday. Angulo has played a major role in helping the Gaurs stay in the race for the top four slots. The 37-year-old, who replaced Ferrán Corominas (popularly known as Coro) in the FC Goa squad, will look to regain the top spot in the ISL 2020-21 top-scorer list by scoring against Mumbai City FC.

Manchester City vs Tottenham Hotspur

Premier League leaders Manchester City will host Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur in a mouth-watering clash at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.

Pep Guardiola’s men registered their 14th consecutive win in all competitions on Sunday as the Cityzens thrashed Liverpool 4-1 at Anfield.  It was City’s 10th win in a row in the league and first at Anfield since 2003 as the visitors moved to 50 points from 22 games, five more than second-placed Manchester United who have played a game more.

On the other hand, Tottenham ended their three-match losing streak in the PL as Harry Kane scored on his return from injury to help Spurs register a 2-0 victory over West Bromwich Albion.

With four points behind fourth-placed Liverpool and with a game in hand, Mourinho’s men need to end City’s 14-match unbeaten-run at the weekend in order to keep their top four finish alive.

Interestingly, Tottenham had defeated Pep’s City 2-0 in the first game of PL 2020-21 between these two teams.

On current form, City are tipped to continue their unbeaten streak against Tottenham at their own backyard.

Player to watch: Phil Foden

Manchester City wonderkid Phil Foden has proved himself to be one of the best young players in England. The 20-year-old had a hand in three goals as City defeated Liverpool 4-1 at Anfield. Foden has already scored 10 goals in all competition this term. In 28 games in all competitions in the 2020-21 season, the youngster has accumulated 16 goal contributions - 10 goals, six assists - having had 17 in 38 last season.
