Pep Guardiola faces his former employers as Manchester City take on Bayern Munich in their second pre-season friendly at Lambeau Field in Wisconsin, United States on Sunday, July 24. The match will kick-off at 4:30 AM IST.
In what will be their final pre-season game, both Bayern and City will look at this fixture as preparation for their upcoming respective Super Cup games.
Bayern are heading into Sunday’s game with a better result, having defeated DC United 6-2 in their previous outing. Man City, on the other hand, got better of Club America 2-1 in their last outing.
As far as their teams are concerned, Bayern’s summer recruit Sadio Mane will miss out on facing former rival Manchester City as he has returned to Munich. A certain Erling Haaland, however, is in line to make his City debut after failing to get minutes against Club America.
Meanwhile, Guardiola will be unable to call upon the services of Aymeric Laporte (injured) while the likes of Phil Foden, John Stones and Ilkay Gundogan are unavailable altogether as they failed to meet the USA entry requirements.
