West Indies skipper, Kimani Melius says that he is not happy the way they ended the tournament with. He adds that they planned to keep it simple and stick to the plan set by the coach. Further says that realizing the game situation and how the players are performing is his biggest take from the tournament. He is happy with his performance but wants a lot more in future. Praises Ashmead Nedd for bowling brilliantly in the entire World Cup. He also praises the other bowlers who had put in great efforts in the nets.

Australia skipper, Mackenzie Harvey says that they can't control the weather. He also adds that the quarter-final against India was hard to lose.Further says that unlike today they struggled to build partnerships in the previous games in the tournament. He praises Connolly on the way he performed. He ends by saying that they look to play more games and keep on performing at the highest level. Signs off by saying that they should have played better than what they displayed in the entire tournament.

Chasing a daunting target, the West Indian openers started briskly but then slowed down with the rain approaching, to counter the unforgiving DLS method. In the 13th over, Kimani Melius lost his wicket and the clouds lost control. It started raining cats and dogs, and the match was forced to be called off. Stay tuned for the presentations...

Let's quickly recap what happened in this match! Australia were put to bat and they put on a show. Every batsman was determined to give his best and eventually, the Aussie boys posted a total in excess of 300. West Indies were known for their bowling in this tournament but it flopped today. They failed to exert much pressure and apart from the efforts of Jayden Seales and Matthew Patrick, there wasn't much flavour.

MATCH ABANDONED! A sad end to this encounter! The rain refused to relent and soon there were plenty of puddles on the ground which made it impossible for the run chase to resume. With that, West Indies come fifth and Australia sixth as the former finished higher in the group stage.

Update 1603 local (1403 GMT) - Nothing new to update as thunder and lightning along with rain continue to engulf Benoni. There are puddles on the ground and it's raining quite heavily. The chances look bleak. Stay tuned for further updates.

Update 1510 local (1310 GMT) - Bad news from all ends for West Indies! They have lost a wicket just before the rain has arrived which has forced the umpires to stop play. The covers have come on and the showers are getting heavier it seems. Let's hope that the rain goes away as soon as possible and the play can resume.

Liam Scott to Kimani Melius

OUT! CAUGHT! Kimani Melius' entertaining knock comes to an end. He was batting aggressively in the last couple of overs. He once again goes to search for the fence but finds the fielder this time. Scott bowls short and wide outside off, Melius makes some room on the off side and cuts it uppishly. He fails to get the distance on it as Sam Fanning manning the deep cover-point region goes slightly towards his left and grabs it. A crucial wicket this one as Melius is one of the best batters that West Indies have.

Liam Scott to Kimani Melius

SIX! What a shot by Melius! Full ball outside off, Melius walks across towards the off side and just flicks it nonchalantly over mid-wicket as the ball goes over the fence there for a biggie.
