TOM BANTON IS THE MAN OF THE MATCH! Says that the ball came onto the bat well and it was good fun. Shares that he has only two games left this season before he heads back home and repeats that it has been good fun. On AB de Villiers replacing him, Tom tells that he will be watching on. On him and Renshaw sharing a good equation, Banton replies that Matt was at Somerset with him and everyone used to call them twins which is a bit of a shame (Tom laughs).

It was a rain-interrupted game and the match started later than the scheduled time. It was an 8-over a side game and the Brisbane Heat made full use of it as Tom Banton and Chris Lynn came out all guns blazing. They formed a 90-run opening stand and it was a blistering one as they scored it inside 5 overs. Max Bryant ended the innings with a couple of big hits and gave a target of 120 runs. The Thunder started their innings well but not as well as the Heat. After 2 overs into the run chase, showers came down again and the match was further reduced to 5 overs. Thunder needed 55 runs off 17 balls after that but never looked like getting to the target. 5 bowlers bowled an over each for the Heat and spinner Zahir Khan was the pick of them as he conceded just 7 runs while also picking up a wicket.

The match started very late than the scheduled time due to rains but in the end, the Brisbane Heat ran out as comfortable winners as they never looked under the cosh.
