The inaugural Indian Street Premier League (ISPL) began on Wednesday, March 6 as Majhi Mumbai beat Srinagar Ke Veer by 37 runs in the opening match.
As many as six teams played a total of 18 matches in the tennis ball T10 cricket tournament.
Apart from Majhi Mumbai and Srinagar Ke Veer, Bangalore Strikers, Chennai Singhams, Falcon Risers Hyderabad and Tiigers of Kolkata were the other teams in the ISPL 2024.
As per the ISPL 2024 schedule, each team played the other five sides once in a round-robin format. The top four teams in the standings after all 15 league matches qualified for the semi-finals.
The winners of the two semi-finals locked horns in the ISPL 2024 final on March 15.
All matches of the ISPL 2024 were played at the Dadoji Kondadev Stadium in Thane, Mumbai.
Meanwhile, Srinagar Ke Veer’s Rajesh Sorte scripted history by picking the first-ever wicket in ISPL. The right-arm pacer dismissed Majhi Mumbai’s Raviraj Ahire in the very first ball.
Sorte later finished with a three-wicket haul as he removed Majhi Mumbai captain Yogesh Penkar and Vijay Pawle.
On the other hand, Majhi Mumbai’s Bashrat Hussain Wani impressed on the opening day as he finished with figures of 3/18 in his two overs to guide his side to a comprehensive win.
Apart from Bashrat Hussain Wani and Rajesh Sorte, the likes of Abhishek Kumar Dalhor, Vijay Pawle, Uzair Shaikh and Bhushan Gole were in contention to be the top wicket-taker in the ISPL. Here’s a look at the players with most wickets in ISPL 2024.
