The Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2023 started on August 17 and will conclude on September 25 (as per IST).
Featuring six teams, a total of 34 T20 matches will be played across 40 days in CPL 2023.
Barbados Royals, Guyana Amazon Warriors, Jamaica Tallawahs, Saint Lucia Kings, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots and Trinbago Knight Riders are the six teams that will compete for the CPL 2023 title.
Some of the world's most talented T20 batters including the likes of Brandon King, Faf du Plessis, Nicholas Pooran, Rovman Powell, Martin Guptill, Andre Russell and Kieron Pollard are featuring in the Caribbean T20 League.
Jamaica Tallawahs captain Brandon King scored the first fifty of CPL 2023 against Saint Lucia Kings in the opening match of the tournament.
King slammed 81 off 53 balls to power his side to 187 in their 20 overs. His innings included nine fours and three sixes. King’s knock helped defending champions Jamaica Tallawahs register an 11-run victory at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground.
The West Indies star batter also finished with the most runs in the Caribbean Premier League last season. King amassed 422 runs in 13 matches for Jamaica Tallawahs at an average of 38.36 and a strike rate of 135.25. Barbados Royals’ Kyle Mayers was the second-highest run-scorer in CPL 2023 with 366 runs in 12 matches.
Apart from King and Kyle Mayers, Faf du Plessis, Roston Chase, Nicholas Pooran, Sean Williams, Johnson Charles and Andre Russell will be in contention to be the top run-scorer in Caribbean Premier League 2023. Here’s a look at the players with most runs in CPL 2023.
