Jasprit Bumrah is often considered one of the most threatening bowlers in T20 cricket. But in an Indian T20 League game against Chennai, the Mumbai pacer recorded his worst performance in T20 cricket.

Bumrah gave away 25 runs in his first two overs while taking the prized wicket of Moeen Ali, who smashed a 36-ball 58.

However, when Bumrah returned to bowl in the death overs, he was given a tough lesson in his third over where he leaked 21 runs. Additionally, the Mumbai pacer also gave away two wides and one no-ball.

Bumrah’s figures of 1/56 is his most expensive spell in T20 cricket, which toppled his previous worst performance of 1/55 against Delhi in the 2015 edition. Both, incidentally, came at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.

Jasprit Bumrah’s most expensive spell in T20 international cricket is conceding 47 runs in his four overs. The Indian pacer registered 2/47 against the West Indies at the Central Broward Regional Park in Lauderhill, Florida in 2016. India lost the match by one run as the Windies’ 245/6, powered by an Evin Lewis century, proved a little too much.

While his two wickets against West Indies gave Jasprit some respite, his spell of 0/45 in four overs against New Zealand at Seddon Park didn’t. The match ended in a tie with India winning in a Super Over.
