Defending champions Mumbai went down to Bangalore by 54 runs in what turned out to be a one-sided affair at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday, September 26.

Chasing 166 for victory, Mumbai got off to a brilliant start with Quinton de Kock and Rohit Sharma leading the charge with a 57-run opening stand. However, their middle-order failed to provide any resistance as Mumbai lost their last seven wickets for 30 runs.

For Bangalore, Harshal Patel picked up a hat-trick to become only the third Bangalore bowler to achieve the feat in the Indian T20 League. He was ably supported by Yuzvendra Chahal and Glenn Maxwell who snapped three and two wickets respectively from the quota of four overs.

The victory has taken Bangalore to the third spot in the standings whereas Mumbai have slipped further below to the seventh spot.
