Kolkata beat Bangalore by 4 wickets in the Eliminator of the Indian T20 League 2021 at Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
Chasing 139, Kolkata were off to a steady start as Shubman Gill 29 (18) and Venkatesh Iyer 26 (30) built a solid 41-run opening stand. Bangalore pulled things back in the middle overs as Chahal stifled the Kolkata batters with his guile, ending with match figures of 2/16 in four overs.
However, just when Bangalore had the match in their grasp, Sunil Narine thew a counter-attacking punch with a brisk 26 (15) that tilted the match in Kolkata's favour.
The victory has taken Kolkata in Qualifier 2 where they will meet Delhi at the same venue on Wednesday.
