The Indian cricket team will start the third edition of the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 cycle with the upcoming two-match Test series against the West Indies in the Caribbean, scheduled to commence on July 12.

Team India will play 19 Tests in the WTC 2023-25 cycle, 10 matches at home and nine matches away.

According to the Men's Future Tours Programme (FTP) 2023-27 announced by the ICC, India will host England (5 Tests), Bangladesh (2 Tests) and New Zealand (3 Tests) in the upcoming WTC cycle.

Apart from India’s tour of West Indies 2023, the two-time finalists are scheduled to play overseas Tests against South Africa (2 Tests) and Australia (5 Tests) in the WTC 2023-25 cycle.

Led by Rohit Sharma, India stormed into the WTC 2023 final, eventually losing to champions Australia by 209 runs at The Oval in London.

India also finished runners-up in the inaugural edition of the WTC after going down to New Zealand by eight wickets at The Rose Bowl in Southampton in June 2021.

The upcoming Ashes 2023 series between arch-rivals England and Australia will start the WTC 2023-25 cycle.

As per the WTC 2023-25 schedule, as many as 27 series, including 68 matches will be played in the league stage. All nine teams will play a total of six series, three home and three away in the third WTC cycle. Each series will consist of two to five Test matches.

Just like the previous two editions of WTC, the top two teams in the league standings will qualify for the marquee final. The WTC 2025 final will be played at the iconic Lord's Cricket Ground to decide the winner of the Test mace.
