The ECI-W Spain-Czechia 2024 will see Spain Women host Czechia Women in a five-match T10 series starting on Saturday, February 17.
The upcoming women’s series will be held alongside the men’s ECI Spain-Czechia 2024 series. All matches of the ECI-W Spain-Czechia 2024 will be played at the Montjuic Olympic Ground in Barcelona.
As per the ECI-W Spain-Czechia 2024 schedule, three matches will be played on the opening day of the T10 tournament, while the remaining two matches will be held on the following day.
Ranked 35th in the ICC Women’s T20I rankings, Spain Women will aim to bounce back after losing to Italy Women in the eliminator of the first-ever Women’s European Cricket Championship in December 2023.
Electing to bat first, Spain rode on captain Elspeth Fowler’s unbeaten 26 and Naomi Hillman-Bermejo’s 24 to post 72/3 in their 10 overs. However, Italy later chased down the target in 7.3 overs to win the match by eight wickets.
On the other hand, Czechia Women will head into the series after thrashing Croatia Women 3-0 in a four-match T10 series in November.
Hosts Spain have been an ICC’s associate member since 2017 and will start as favourites against Czechia Women in the upcoming five-match T10 series.
