Spinner Yuzvendra Chahal holds the honour of having picked up the most T20I wickets for India.

Chahal has picked 91 T20I wickets in 75 matches at an average of 24.68 and an economy of 8.13. During England’s tour of India in 2017, Chahal registered his best bowling figures of 6/25 in the third T20I at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.

The leg-spinner has two four-wicket hauls and one-five wicket haul in his T20I career so far.

Meanwhile, Bhuvneshwar Kumar has bagged 90 T20I wickets in 87 matches at an economy of 6.96 and an average of 23.10. 

The Uttar Pradesh-born cricketer has registered three four-wicket hauls and two five-wicket hauls in the shortest format.

Kumar’s best bowling figures of 5/4 came against Afghanistan in Asia Cup 2022.

India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is third on the list for most T20I wickets for India. Ashwin has claimed 72 wickets in 65 T20I matches at an average of 23.22 and an impressive economy of 6.90.

The right-arm offbreak bowler's best bowling figures of 4/8 came against Sri Lanka in Visakhapatnam in 2016.

The duo of Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya complete the top five list.

While Bumrah has scalped 70 wickets in 60 T20Is at an economy of 6.62 and an average of 20.22, Pandya has picked 69 T20I wickets in 87 matches at an average of 26.43 and an economy of 8.14.

Bumrah’s best bowling figures in T20I format is 3/11, which was registered against Zimbabwe in Harare in 2016. On the other hand, Pandya claimed four wickets for 16 runs in his quota of four overs against New Zealand at Narendra Modi Stadium in February 2023. This is Pandya’s best bowling figures in the shortest format.
