The Holkar Stadium is situated in Indore, Madhya Pradesh and it has been staging international cricket matches since 2006. Formerly known as Maharani Usharaje Trust Cricket Ground, it became India’s 156th ODI venue in 2006.
The ground has a capacity of 30,000 and is the home ground for Madhya Pradesh’s domestic team. It also hosted a few Indian T20 League matches for Team Punjab in 2017 and 2018.

Most runs
Virender Sehwag scored 220 runs in two innings at this venue and is the leading run-scorer at the stadium. He registered the second-ever double century in ODI cricket on this ground, which was also his last three-figure score in ODI cricket.
Most wickets
S Sreesanth picked up six wickets in his only outing at this venue and holds the record for the most ODI wickets at the ground.
Average 1st innings score
The Holkar Stadium has proven itself to be a batting paradise, with an average first innings score of 320 in the six ODIs that were played here.
Highest individual score
Virender Sehwag smashed 219 in 149 balls against West Indies here in December 2011, which is the highest individual score at the ground. It was also the highest score in ODI cricket until Rohit Sharma (264) surpassed him in November 2014.
Best bowling figures
Sreesanth returned with figures of 6/55 against England in April 2006 and it is the best bowling figures by bowlers on this ground. It is also the only five-fer registered at the Holkar Stadium in ODIs.
Highest team total
Banking on Virender Sehwag’s double century, India scored 418/5 in 50 overs against West Indies in 2011. This is the highest team total at this venue and also the highest team total recorded by India in ODIs.
Lowest team total
South Africa recorded the lowest team total in the Holkar Stadium when they were bowled out for 225 runs against India in October 2015. Chasing 248 to win the match, the Proteas fell short of India’s total.
Highest partnership
Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill scored 212 for the opening wicket during the third ODI against New Zealand in 2011. Their partnership, which is the highest for any wicket at this venue, set the tone for India to register 385/9.
