Chennaiyin FC and Jamshedpur FC will kick off their Indian Super League (ISL) 2020-21 campaign at the Tilak Maidan in Vasco da Gama, Goa on Tuesday, November 24.

Two-time ISL champions Chennaiyin will come up against their former head coach Owen Coyle, who led the Marina Machans to the final last season and has now joined Jamshedpur FC on a two-year contract.

The Chennai-based franchise have appointed Romanian Csaba Laszlo, who is making his coaching debut in Asia.

On the other hand, Jamshedpur will look to change their fortune this time around, having finished eighth last season under Spanish head coach Antonio Iriondo. Watch Jamshedpur FC vs Chennaiyin FC on live streaming.

Interestingly, JFC have never qualified for the play-offs in their ISL history, having joined the league in 2017.

Chennaiyin FC squad

While the MS Dhoni-owned Chennaiyin FC have retained their core squad for season 7, they have lost last season's Golden Boot winner Nerijus Valskis, to Jamshedpur FC. 

CFC have replaced five of its seven overseas players, with only Brazilians Rafael Crivellaro and Eli Sabia being retained for the new ISL season.

In Valskis' absence, Guinea-Bissau striker Esmael Goncalves is likely to lead the forward line.

Csaba Laszlo-led side has also roped in Slovakian Jakub Sylvestr and Tajikistan international winger Fatkhullo Fatkhuloev to add enough firepower to their attack.

Additionally, Chennaiyin will again depend heavily on their Indian contingent of Anirudh Thapa, Vishal Kaith, Jerry Lalrinzuala, Edwin Sydney Vanspaul and Germanpreet Singh.

The Chennai-based franchise has also roped in left-back Lalchhuanmawia and right-back Reagan Singh to add some much-needed experience to their squad.

After finishing a disappointing eighth last time around, the Red Miners had a busy transfer window this time around. Under new head coach Owen Coyle, Jamshedpur FC have signed last season's Golden Boot winner and former Chennaiyin FC striker Nerijus Valskis. JFC have also roped in former Sunderland defender Peter Hartley, Nigerian international Stephen Eze and Brazilian midfielder Alex Lima.

JFC have also added former FC Goa winger Jackichand Singh and NorthEast United goalkeeper TP Rehenesh to add some experience to their squad.

Additionally, Jamshedpur FC have some highly-talented prospects like Amarjit Singh, Narender Gahlot, Jitendra Singh, Isaac Vanmalsawma and Mobashir Rahman at their disposal.
