Boumous, 26, arrived in the Indian Super League midway through the 2017-18 ISL season, joining the FC Goa side that reached the final in the subsequent campaign. In his first full season, the Frenchman recorded five assists followed by a career-high 10 assists in the 2019-20 season, which is the most assists in a single ISL season by any player.
In his two-and-a-half-year stint with the Gaurs, Boumous tallied an impressive 17 assists in 42 ISL appearances. His exploits eventually earned him a move to Mumbai City FC ahead of the 2020-21 season and riding on his return of seven assists and three goals, the Islanders won their first-ever ISL title.
