MS Dhoni is the biggest superstar in cricket: Dwayne Bravo
Chennai's star all-rounder Dwayne Bravo heaped praises on team legend and India’s former skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, calling him the 'biggest superstar in cricket' during a conversation with commentator and former Zimbabwe player Pommie Mbanga in an Instagram live chat.
"MS Dhoni is the biggest superstar in cricket and in our team," he said. "He was one of the easiest people to interact with, outside of the cricket field, he is like playing video games, his door is open at all times. Whenever you talk about the biggest superstar and then you think a person like Dhoni is the humblest of them all," said Bravo, who plays alongside the talismanic wicketkeeper at Chennai in the Indian T20 League.
The West Indies international was brought into the side during the Indian T20 League 2011 auction after playing for Mumbai Indians for the first three seasons of the tournament. Barring a period of two years wherein he played for the now-defunct Gujarat Lions, Bravo has plied his trade for CHE since 2011. In 104 matches for the Chennai-based franchise, the Windies star has picked up 121 wickets. He won the Purple Cap for most wickets twice, picking up 32 wickets in 2013 and 26 in 2015.
Talking about the three-time Indian T20 League champions, Bravo said, "Chennai is a special team and we have the most loyal fans. I think a lot of credit for Chennai's success has to be given to Dhoni and Fleming. Obviously, the owners (as well), they trust both Fleming and Dhoni. So, there is no outside interference when it comes to decision making. Both are very big students of the game, players love Dhoni and it's an environment and franchise that allows you to be you."
