Having beaten defending champions Mumbai and Hyderabad in the first two matches of their Indian T20 League 2021 campaign, Team Bangalore will be high on confidence when they face Kolkata at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Sunday, April 18.

Virat Kohli’s men are the only team to remain unbeaten in the tournament so far, while their opponent Team Kolkata arrives at this fixture at the back of a disheartening defeat against Mumbai in their last match.

However, regardless of their current form, Bangalore will be wary of their poor record against Kolkata in the tournament. Bangalore have clashed with Kolkata 26 times in the Indian T20 League with the Shah Rukh Khan-owned side beating them on 14 occasions. Kohli’s men had also recorded the lowest total in the Indian T20 League against Kolkata in 2017.

Eoin Morgan and his team will look to take encouragement from the fact that they have a 53.85 winning percentage against Bangalore, despite their under-par results at the MA Chidambaram Stadium over the years. Watch Bangalore vs Kolkata live!

Bangalore’s win against Hyderabad could be considered more as Hyderabad’s late choke than Bangalore’s superior play after the 2016 finalists were bundled for a paltry total of 149 while batting first.

The same could be said about Kolkata, who could not chase a target of 153 runs after bowling brilliantly to restrict Mumbai to a low total.
