Deepika Kumari and Pravin Jadhav will lead India’s archery contingent in the round of 64 of the men’s and women’s individual events on July 28, Wednesday, at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics at the Yumenoshima final field.

Starting her campaign in the women's recurve individual event, world no. 1 Deepika Kumari will take on Bhutan's Karma in the round of 64. Kumari had earlier partnered Pravin Jadhav in the mixed team event as well, where India lost to the Republic of Korea in the quarter-final round.

For Pravin Jadhav, it will be his third event at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. The archer has previously participated in the mixed team as well as the men’s team, where the Indian trio of Jadhav, Atanu Das and Tarundeep Rai lost to the Republic of Korea in the quarter-final yet again.

Pravin Jadhav will face Galsan Bazarzhapov from the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC), while compatriot Tarundeep Rai takes on Ukraine’s Oleksii Hunbin in the elimination round.

The bronze medal and the gold medal matches for the women's individual event will be held on July 30, Friday, while the men’s bronze and gold medal events will be held on July 30, Saturday.
