England have reached the final of 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup and stand at the brink of lifting their maiden World Cup trophy. Chasing a lowly 224 set by Australia, the Three Lions endured a brilliant start and it wasn’t until 124 runs that they lost their first wicket in Jonny Bairstow.

While one opener was gone, another in Jason Roy was streaming the English batting channel in absolute style, until a blunder from the match official cost him his century. Facing a Pat Cummings’ short ball on the leg side, Roy decided to chase the delivery with a pull. The ball travelled to Alex Carey’s left and the Australians put up a confident appeal. After a while, umpire Kumar Dharmasena lifted his finger confirming the dismissal.

And Roy, for all the right reasons, was left livid with the decision. He even had a chat with Erasmus, the square leg umpire, but the decision stayed intact. And as England had no reviews left, Roy was forced to walk back to the pavilion. Replays, on the other hand, showed that there was clearly no edge and a decent gap between the bat and the ball.

As for the fans, they have been expressing their discontent on Twitter. Here are some of the best reactions to it:

Nonetheless, well played, Jason!
