After a gap of over two years, Pro Kabaddi, the world’s biggest kabaddi league, kickstarted in Bengaluru on December 22, 2021. The tournament, expected to be played within a three-month window, will see the 12 teams go head-to-head against each other to win the coveted PKL trophy.

With some renowned national and international stars on display, the Pro Kabaddi Season 8 is expected to be a great spectacle to watch once again this year.

How does the Pro Kabaddi points table work?

Each team in Pro Kabaddi is awarded five points for a victory. The teams share three points in the event of a tie. As long as the margin of defeat is equal to or less than seven points, the losing team is awarded one point. If the margin of loss is greater than seven, no points are awarded to the losing team.

The Pro Kabaddi Season 8 will feature 137 matches, including the two eliminators, semi-finals and the final. The tournament will be played in the double robin-round format, with each team playing 22 games in the league stages.

The top six teams in the league will qualify for the knockouts. However, the bottom four qualifying teams will first face-off in the eliminator. The winners will then face the top two qualifying teams in the semi-finals. The semi-final winners will then play the final match of Pro Kabaddi.
