Former U Mumba raider Arjun Deshwal on Tuesday grabbed the headlines by becoming the costliest player to be sold on Day 3 of the Pro Kabaddi 2021 auction after Jaipur Pink Panthers spent a whopping INR 96 lakh to secure his services.

The third day of the PKL 8 auction featured players from Category B, C and D. The auction resumed on the final day with defenders up for grabs for the franchises. The comeback of Sandeep Kandola was one of the highlights of the day as Telugu Titans bagged their former player for INR 59.5 lakh.

Among defenders, Sunil and Sombir stirred a bidding war as Patna Pirates snapped the former for INR 31.5 lakh while Puneri Paltan grabbed the latter for INR 34.5 lakh after outbidding U Mumba.

From the raiders, Nitin Tomar also created a lot of interest in the auction room before Puneri Paltan decided to use the FBM card to secure his services for INR 61 lakh. All-rounder Brijendra Singh Chaudhary was one of the surprise packages as he was bought by Haryana Steelers for INR 55 lakh.

The final day of the Pro Kabaddi 2021 auction had its share of surprises and drama with renowned players like Rishank Devadiga and Monu Goyat failing to attract bidders initially. However, the duo were later picked for their base price of INR 20 lakh by Bengal Warriors and Patna Pirates respectively.

Seasoned player Manjeet Chhillar who went unsold on Day 2 also found takers as Dabang Delhi K.C swooped in for the all-rounder.

From Category C, few players attracted handsome bids but the star of the show was Rathan K, who was one of the top performers in the Senior National Kabaddi Championship 2021. He went to Gujarat Giants for INR 25 lakh.
