The highlight of the second day of the Pro Kabaddi 2021 auction was Pardeep Narwal’s record-breaking bid of INR 1.65 crore by U.P. Yoddha. After an intense bidding war with Telugu Titans that saw neither team holding back, U.P. Yoddha finally acquired the services of the star raider. Interestingly, Patna Pirates, Pardeep’s former team, did not use the Final Bid Match (FBM) card to buy him back.

Day 2 of the auction began with the overseas category players. Iranian Mohammadreza Shadloui Chiyaneh became the top buy among foreign players this season after Patna Pirates signed the youngster for INR 31 lakhs. Besides him, Abozar Mohajer Mighani (INR 30.5 lakhs) and Jang Kun Lee (INR 20.5 lakhs) were the other two top foreign buys by Bengal Warriors and Patna Pirates respectively.

In the category A domestic players, Siddharth Desai and young raider Manjeet were the other two headline-makers of the day after Telugu Titans and Tamil Thalaivas bagged the respective raiders for INR 1.30 crores and INR 92 lakhs.

All-rounder Rohit Gulia (83 lakhs) generated interest among a few teams before Haryana Steelers snapped him up. Among the defenders, veterans Surjeet Singh (75 lakhs) and Ravinder Pahal (74 lakhs) were the top buys by Tamil Thalaivas and Gujarat Giants respectively. A total of 22 overseas players and 21 Category A domestic players were bought on Day 2 of the auction.

However, the biggest surprise of the day came when veterans Ran Singh and Manjeet Chhillar failed to attract any bids.

The final day of the Pro Kabaddi 2021 auction on August 31 will see players from Category B and C up for grabs.
