The seventh season of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) is in its final leg with teams fighting for a place in the Playoffs. With less than a month left for the final showdown, Dabang Delhi KC and Bengal Warriors have already sealed the first two spots to their name.

The top two teams in the PKL 2019 points table will directly qualify for the semi-finals while the remaining four will play Eliminator 1 and Eliminator 2. The winners of the Eliminators will play the semifinals and the final between the two winners of the semi-finals will be played on October 19 in Ahmedabad.

Bengal Warriors went through after a hard-fought battle against Jaipur Pink Panthers at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on September 22. Bengal captain Maninder Singh stole the show with his match-winning performance as he scored a career-best 19 raid points. Maninder was instrumental in nullifying the fightback from the Pink Panthers and establishing his team’s position in the Playoffs.

However, Delhi have been the team of the season so far, having lost only two encounters in their first 16 matches of the 2019 campaign. The young gun, Naveen Kumar has been in spellbinding form for the team from the capital city, garnering 15 Super 10s in 16 outings so far.

Courtesy of a Bengal victory against Jaipur, Delhi are now assured of a Playoff spot as they will definitely remain in the top six regardless of any circumstances. The league leaders have been in blistering form and would look to consolidate their position in the league standings by ensuring they don’t lose their remaining matches.

Both Bengal and Delhi would look to see off any threats in the upcoming matches to book the top two spots in the Playoffs with the sole intention of avoiding playing in the Eliminators. It will be interesting to witness how the remaining teams will land in the scheme of things leading up to the grand final.
