The Asian Kabaddi Championship 2023 is all set to begin on Tuesday, June 27 in Busan, Korea.

The 11th edition of the tournament, the Asian Kabaddi Championship makes its return following a six-year hiatus with its last edition taking place in Gorgan, Iran in 2017.

The upcoming edition of the tournament will witness six teams battling it out over four days to claim the trophy.

These six teams are hosts Korea, Chinese Taipei, Iran, Japan, Hong Kong, and kabaddi heavyweight India.

These six teams will square off against each other once in a round-robin format and the top two sides at the end of all the encounters will compete for the trophy in the final.

A total of 16 matches, including the final will be played over the course of this four-day competition.

India head into the tournament as reigning champions having beaten Pakistan 36-22 in the final of the previous edition of the tournament in 2017.

Household names like Arjun Deshwal, Pawan Sehrawat, Naveen Kumar, Aslam Inamdar, Surjeet Singh, and Vishal Bhardwaj, are all a part of the Indian squad that will take part in the tournament.

India’s coaching contingent features the likes of Dronacharya as well as Arjun Award Winner Mr. Ashan Kumar and another Arjuna Award Winner in Sanjeev Baliyan. Ex-Indian team coach E. Bhaskaran will be the manager of the team.

India has won this tournament the most times and they will once again be the favourites to mount a successful title defence.

Live streaming of the Asian Kabaddi Championship 2023 will be available on the tournament's official YouTube channel.

There will be no live telecast of the Asian Kabaddi Championship 2023 on any TV channel in India.
