The 70th Senior National Kabaddi Championship will start on March 21 and run till March 24 in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra.
Organised by the Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India (AKFI), as many as 30 teams will participate in the 70th Senior National Kabaddi Championship.
These participating teams have been divided into eight groups, three each in two groups and four each in six groups.
Group A has Indian Railways, Madhya Pradesh and BSNL while the likes of Maharashtra, Delhi and Gujarat are placed in Group B.
Goa, Bihar, Manipur, West Bengal are clubbed in Group C while Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Tripura and Uttarakhand are in Group D.
Group E comprises Tamil Nadu, Jharkhand, Rajasthan and Pondicherry.
Chandigarh, Karnataka, Chhattisgarh, Telangana are placed in Group F.
On the other hand, Group G includes Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Jammu & Kashmir and Vidarbha.
Group H has Services, Punjab, Andhra Pradesh and Odisha.
All matches in the 70th Senior National Kabaddi Championship will be held at the District Sports Complex in Ahmednagar.
Indian Railways will enter the upcoming edition as the four-time defending champions. Led by former captain Pawan Kumar Sehrawat, Indian Railways defeated Maharashtra 38-21 in the 69th Senior National Kabaddi Championship final in July 2022.
Pawan Sehrawat will be representing Chandigarh in the 70th Senior National Kabaddi Championship, while Aslam Inamdar who led Puneri Paltan to the Pro Kabaddi League Season 10 title will captain Maharashtra.
Rahul Chaudhari, V Ajith Kumar, Surender Gill, Sunil Kumar, Surjeet Singh, Arjun Deshwal, Surjeet Singh, and Ankush are few other PKL stars who will be seen in action in the 2024 Senior National Kabaddi Championship.
