The 69th Senior National Kabaddi Championship will start on July 21 and will be held in Charkhi Dadri, Haryana.

Organised by the Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India (AKFI), the championship will only be held for men similar to last year. The previous edition of the Senior National Kabaddi Championship for men’s and women’s categories were held at different venues and at different times.

The upcoming men’s kabaddi nationals will be a four-day event and will conclude on July 24.

Several Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) stars are expected to take part in the senior kabaddi nationals.

Players competing in the Senior National Kabaddi Championship 2022 will be scouted for the Indian national kabaddi team.

Indian Railways will head into the upcoming tournament as defending champions, having defeated Services 44-23 in the final at the Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar International Sports Stadium in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh last year.

A total of 30 teams participated in the previous edition of senior kabaddi nationals held in April last year.

In the women’s category, the 68th Senior National Kabaddi Championship was held at the open stadium of Charkhi Dadri, Haryana earlier in March.

Himachal Pradesh emerged as the winners of the 68th Senior National Kabaddi Championship Women, having pipped Indian Railways 33-31 in the final.
