The UEFA Champions League 2022-23 group stage draw is all set to take place on Thursday, August 25 in Istanbul, Turkey. The event will start at 9:30 PM Indian Standard Time (IST).

Reigning UEFA Champions League winner Real Madrid, UEFA Europa League holder Eintracht Frankfurt and 30 other qualified teams are placed into four pots. 

Pot 1 contains Champions League and Europa League holders as well as the champions of Europe’s top six leagues -  the Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, the Bundesliga, Ligue 1 and the Primeira Liga.  

On the other hand, the remaining three pots (2, 3 and 4) are populated based on a team’s UEFA club coefficient.

As per UEFA draw rules, two teams from the same football association cannot be drawn into the same group in the draw.

The likes of Real Madrid, Eintracht Frankfurt, Manchester City, AC Milan, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Porto and Ajax are placed in Pot 1. 

Pot 2 consists of Liverpool, Chelsea, Barcelona, Juventus, Atletico Madrid, Sevilla, RB Leipzig, Tottenham. Here’s a complete breakdown of the teams in their respective pots.

Pot 1 -  Real Madrid, Eintracht Frankfurt, Manchester City, AC Milan, Bayern Munich, PSG, Porto, Ajax

Pot 2 - Liverpool, Chelsea, Barcelona, Juventus, Atletico Madrid, Sevilla, RB Leipzig, Tottenham

Pot 3 - Borussia Dortmund, RB Salzburg, Shakhtar Donetsk, Inter Milan, Napoli, Sporting Lisbon, Bayern Leverkusen, Olympic Marseille

Pot 4 - Club Brugge, Celtic, Maccabi Haifa, Copenhagen, Dinamo Zagreb, Viktoria Plzen, Rangers, Benfica
