Defending champions Real Madrid will face FC Barcelona in the Supercopa de Espana 2022-23 final at the King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Monday as per the Indian Standard Time. The match will start at 12:30 AM IST.
Barcelona are in a red hot form in La Liga post FIFA World Cup 2022. They currently lead the La Liga points table with 41 points - three clear from the second-placed Real Madrid.
Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez, who won 25 trophies with Barcelona as a player, will look for his first major title as a manager when his side take on arch-rivals Real Madrid in the first El Clasico of 2023.
However, La Blaugrana, who are the most successful team at the Spanish Super Cup with 13 titles, have struggled to finish games clinically of late.
They had to take the hard route in the Super Cup semi-final against Real Betis after being held 2-2 at the end of extra time. Barcelona managed to scrape past in the penalties but will have an uphill task against Real Madrid in the final on Monday (IST).
Real Madrid, meanwhile, have struggled since resuming after the FIFA World Cup 2022. Their Super Cup semi-final against Valencia went down to the penalties and they dropped crucial points against Villarreal in their first La Liga match of the year.
Los Blancos manager Carlo Ancelotti has a few injury concerns ahead of the final with Eduardo Camavinga, Auriel Tchouameni, David Alaba and Lucas Vazquez remaining doubtful starters.
Real Madrid have a shot at winning possibly six titles this season and the Copa de Espana could be the second of those, having already won the UEFA Super Cup.
