SC East Bengal (SCEB) take on Jamshedpur FC (JFC) in the third match of the Indian Super League 2021-22 season at the Tilak Maidan in Vasco da Gama, Goa on Sunday, November 21.

SCEB vs JFC Dream11 prediction

SCEB had a forgettable debut campaign in the Indian Super League under Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler, and have brought in a new coach in Manolo Diaz to turn things around. Jamshedpur FC, on the other hand, have made strong improvements to their team under Owen Coyle and will be eager to get the latest campaign underway on a positive note.

The SC East Bengal vs Jamshedpur FC head-to-head record is in favour of SCEB. While the first meeting ended in a goalless stalemate, the reverse fixture saw the Red and Gold Brigade come out victorious in a 2-1 win.

However, considering the quality of talent on paper, Jamshedpur FC will start as favourites on Sunday.

SCEB vs JFC Dream11 team tips for Indian Super League 2021-22

Top tip: Best forward

It goes without saying that Nerijus Valskis has to be your first choice pick. The 34-year-old Lithuania striker, a golden boot winner with Chennaiyin FC in 2019-20, will look to begin the season with a goal and reward the trust put in him by his 97.17 per cent fantasy owners.

Top tip: Best midfielder

SCEB’s Amir Dervisevic will make his competitive ISL debut against Jamshedpur FC, and will hope to showcase his attributes as an all-round midfielder. The Slovenian can operate as an attacking or a defensive midfielder, which will boost the confidence of East Bengal who eye a positive performance against a formidable JFC.

Top tip: Best defender and goalkeeper

The seasoned Eli Sabia is a smart pick for the defensive slot. An attack-minded defender, Sabia can add impetus to attacks going forward as he has registered two goals and two assists in his ISL career, while conceding just 0.03 goals per game. With Jamshedpur appearing to be a more well-rounded unit than the previous season, Sabia could pick up an easy clean sheet on Sunday.

For a goalkeeper, fantasy players should be quick to draft in SCEB’s Arindam Bhattacharya. The 32-year-old custodian has leaked one goal per game in his ISL career and arrives from rivals ATK Mohun Bagan as the Golden Glove winner in the 2020-21 season (10 clean sheets, 19 goals conceded, 59 saves). Given his work ethic between the sticks, it will take an incredible effort for opposition players to get past the Bengal goalkeeper.
