Matchday 2 of the UEFA Champions League 2021-22 will be headlined by Manchester City’s trip to France as the Premier League champions take on Paris Saint Germain in their Group A encounter.
New summer signing Lionel Messi is expected to mark his return after missing PSG’s 2-0 home win over Montpellier last weekend. The Argentine captain has been struggling with a knee injury, but trained with the squad ahead of the match against Manchester City.
Meanwhile, defending champions Chelsea will make a trip to Turin to face a struggling Juventus side while Manchester United welcome last season’s UEFA Europa League winners Villarreal at Old Trafford.
Chelsea will have their task cut out against Juventus as the Serie A giants will be without Paulo Dybala and Alvaro Morata for the match. The former limped off in Juventus’ 3-2 win against Sampdoria on Sunday with a thigh injury and will be out for quite some time. Massimiliano Allegri also confirmed the unavailability of Morata as he picked a knock as well.
The likes of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich have relatively easy matches as they take on Sheriff and Dynamo Kyiv respectively. Liverpool, on the other hand, will lock horns with Primeira Liga heavyweights FC Porto while AC Milan will host Atletico Madrid at San Siro.
