The Spain national football team will host Cyprus in the UEFA Euro 2024 Qualifiers at the Nuevo Estadio de Los Cármenes in Granada, Spain. The Group A SPA vs CPR football match will start at 12:15 AM Indian Standard Time (IST) on Wednesday, September 13.

Under manager Luis de la Fuente, Spain will head into the upcoming encounter after thrashing Georgia 7-1 at the Boris Paichadze Dinamo Arena in Tbilisi on Friday.

Alvaro Morata netted a hat-trick and goals from Dani Olmo, Nico Williams, Yamine Lamal and Solomon Kverkvelia (OG) powered La Roja to a thumping victory.

Earlier, Spain started their UEFA Euro 2024 qualifying campaign with a 3-0 win over Norway. However, they later went down to Scotland 0-2 in their second fixture.

With six points from three matches, Spain are currently placed second in Group A standings, nine points behind leaders Scotland.

On the other hand, the Cyprus national football team will aim to bounce back after succumbing to a 0-3 defeat against Scotland at their home.

The Temur Ketsbaia-coached Cyprus have struggled in the ongoing UEFA Euro 2024 Qualifiers, and have lost all their four matches so far. They are currently languishing at the bottom of the Group A standings.

Ahead of the clash, Spain have suffered twin blows as Marco Asensio and Dani Olmo have been ruled out due to injuries.

Barcelona forward Ferran Torres and Villareal midfielder Yeremy Pino have been added to the squad.

For Cyprus, the likes of Charalambos Kyriakou, Ioannis Pittas, Michalis Ioannou and Charalambos Charalambous are expected to play a key role.

Spain have a dominant head-to-head record against Cyprus in international football, having won seven of the eight matches that they have played so far. Cyprus’ only victory was registered in September 1998.
