New Indian Super League entrants SC East Bengal will continue their search for a maiden win in their first ISL season when they take on Chennaiyin FC on December 26, at Goa’s Tilak Maidan.
After facing four defeats in their first four league matches, SC East Bengal came the closest to register a win against Kerala Blasters last Sunday, on December 20, as Robbie Fowler's men led by a goal until the 95th minute. However, Jeakson Singh Thaunaojam’s equalizer in the extra-time cancelled out Bakary Kone's first-half own goal as the match ended 1-1.
Chennaiyin FC, on the other hand, have experienced a topsy-turvy season so far. While the Marina Machans have faced defeats against Mumbai City FC and Bengaluru FC, they have also gone on to beat FC Goa and Jamshedpur FC in their ISL 2020-21 campaign so far. They have been held to 0-0 draws by NorthEast United FC and Kerala Blasters FC as well, as they sit eighth in the ISL points table.
