The fourth match of the 2020-21 Indian Super League (ISL) season will see Odisha FC take on Hyderabad FC at the GMC Stadium in Bambolim, Goa on Monday, November 23.

Now, in their second season, both Odisha FC and Hyderabad FC had failed to qualify for the play-offs in ISL 2019-20.

With an ambition to make it to the last four this time around, both the sides have brought in new coaches. While the Bhubaneswar-based side has appointed Englishman Stuart Baxter as their head coach for ISL 2020-21 season, the Nizams have roped in former Las Palmas coach, Manuel Marquez Roca. Odisha FC’s performance last season

Under former head coach Josep Gombau, the Bhubaneswar-based side had displayed some beautiful possession-based football in their debut ISL campaign. However, it was their poor defence and off-field chaos that let their side down on a number of occasions, as they finished sixth in the ISL 2019-20 points table.

Hyderabad FC’s performance last season

The Nizams had a terrible debut season as they finished at the bottom on the league table with just two wins and 10 points in 18 matches.

Hyderabad sacked their former head coach, Phil Brown last season and appointed former Bengaluru FC coach Albert Roca, who joined HFC in January this season but took charge of the side only after the conclusion of ISL season 6.

However, in a massive blow to Hyderabad FC before ISL 2020-21, Roca decided to join La Liga giants Barcelona as one of their fitness coaches.

The Bhubaneswar-based side has also signed a third foreign striker in Diego Mauricio, who had played alongside Brazilian legend Ronaldinho at Flamengo.

Odisha FC have also invested massively in their defence by roping in Newcastle United legend Steven Taylor and Australian defender Jacob Tratt.

Manuel Marquez-led side has made some key foreign signings to rejuvenate their squad and has completely overhauled it.

Interestingly, the Nizams have roped in 15 new faces for the new season and also ended their association with as many as 14 players from their first season's squad, including six foreign players.

The most notable signing for Hyderabad FC is undoubtedly Spanish striker Aridane Santana, who had scored 14 goals for Odisha FC last season.

Hyderabad FC have also brought in Brazilian midfielder Joao Victor and Spanish Lluis Sastre in order to bring in some solidity to their midfield.

Spanish defender Odei Onaindia, Australian striker Joel Chianese and Girona forward Francisco Sandaza are the other three foreign recruitments for Hyderabad.
