Five-time EFL Cup winners Chelsea will lock horns with second-tier outfit Middlesbrough in the first leg of the Carabao Cup 2023-24 semi-finals to be played at the Riverside Stadium in Middlesbrough, England.

Earlier, the Blues pipped Championship outfit Blackburn Rovers 2-0 at Stamford Bridge in the Round of 16.
Chelsea will head into the Carabao Cup game after thrashing Preston North End FC 4-0 in the third round of the FA Cup 2023-24.
On the other hand, Middlesbrough secured a comprehensive 3-0 win over Port Vale in the ongoing EFL Cup quarter-finals.
However, the EFL Championship side will aim to bounce back after suffering a 0-1 defeat against Aston Villa in the FA Cup third round.
Ahead of the clash, Chelsea will miss the services of several of their stars including Nicolas Jackson, Christopher Nkunku, Reece James, Wesley Fofana, Marc Cucurella, Robert Sanchez, Lesley Ugochukwu, Trevoh Chalobah, Romeo Lavia, Benoit Badiashile and Carney Chukwuemeka.
For Middlesbrough, the likes of Samuel Silvera, Riley McGree, Seny Dieng, Finn Azaz, Sam Greenwood, Tom Smith, Marcus Forss, Patrick McNair, Lewis O'Brien and Darragh Lenihan will be unavailable for selection.
