Manchester United, with a new head coach in Erik ten Hag, begin their pre-season tour of 2022-23 against Liverpool at the Rajamangala Stadium in Thailand on Tuesday, July 12.

The Red Devils’ 2022-23 pre-season tour spans across Thailand, Australia and Norway. While the crunch meeting against Liverpool is their only game in Thailand, their tour will move to Australia where they will face Melbourne City (July 15), Crystal Palace (July 19), Aston Villa (July 23).

While they take on Atletico Madrid in Oslo, Norway on July 30, United end their pre-season with the hosting of Rayo Vallecano at Old Trafford on July 31.

Manchester United have been one of the busy teams in the summer transfer window of late. The likes of Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard, Nemanja Matic, Juan Mata, Edinson Cavani and Lee Grant departed the club following the end of their respective contracts. Dean Henderson, meanwhile, has left the club to join newcomers Nottingham Forest on a one-year loan.

In turn, the Red Devils have announced their first signing of the 2022-23 season with full-back Tyrell Malacia arriving on a £12.95 million transfer from Feyenoord. Denmark midfielder Christian Eriksen is set to be the second arrival at Man United subject to completing his medical and an official announcement by the club.

Should the deal be finalised this week, the 30-year-old could join the Manchester United first-team for the Australian leg of their 2022-23 pre-season tour.

A major absentee in Manchester United’s pre-season tour of 2022-23 in Thailand and Australia is Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Portugal icon, who finished as MUFC’s leading goalscorer in 2021-22 with 24 goals in 38 games across all competitions, has been granted permission by the club to miss the pre-season games due to personal reasons.

Manchester United’s pre-season tour of 2022-23 will be played from July 12 to July 31. Erik ten Hag will travel with a 31-man squad, with new signing Malacia among the players. Also joining the tour are academy players Alejandro Garnacho, Zidane Iqbal and Charlie Savage, who all made their senior debuts last season.
