Defending champions Manchester City lock horns with Tottenham Hotspur in the EFL Cup 2020-21 (League Cup) final at Wembley on Sunday, April 25.

Pep Guardiola's Manchester City are aiming to claim their fourth consecutive League Cup (also called Carabao Cup) and their eighth EFL Cup trophy overall. Currently, Liverpool are the most successful team in the competition, having won the Carabao Cup eight times.

The Cityzens are chasing a treble this season and they will be eager to clinch the EFL Cup on Sunday before fighting for the other two titles. City currently have an 11-point lead at the top of the Premier League points table and they will also play the first leg of the Champions League semi-final against Paris St-Germain next week.

Ahead of the EFL Cup final, City received a massive boost as their star midfielder Kevin de Bruyne and striker Sergio Aguero have returned to training after recovering from their respective injuries. Watch the EFL Cup final live in India!

Meanwhile, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has stressed the importance of winning their fourth straight League Cup.

"We cannot deny the UEFA Champions League is close and the Premier League is not over and they are more important. But we want to win this competition," Guardiola said.

"For Tottenham, it will be their first title in years and their commitment will be incredible and the quality of their players is extraordinary,” Guardiola added.

On the other hand, Tottenham Hotspur will look to claim their first major trophy since the 2007-08 season when they had defeated Chelsea 2-1 in the EFL Cup final.

The four-time winners will head into Sunday’s Carabao Cup final with renewed optimism after interim manager Ryan Mason won his first game in charge. The Lilywhites had sacked Jose Mourinho on Monday in the midst of the Super League fallout.

Tottenham will hope their talismanic captain Harry Kane would be fit to take part in the final on Sunday.

"Kane didn't train with the team on Friday but we'll have more of an idea tomorrow to see if we can get him back on the pitch," interim manager Mason said.

"What we are not going to do and what Harry is not going to do is put his body on the line if he does not think it is suitable,” the Tottenham boss added.
