Premier League heavyweights Liverpool are all set to clash with German giants Bayern Munich at the Singapore National Stadium on Wednesday, August 2. The Liverpool vs Bayern Munich pre-season friendly will begin at 5:00 PM IST.
Under charismatic manager Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool are unbeaten in the 2023 pre-season friendly matches. They began their pre-season with a 4-2 win over German outfit Karlsruher before playing out an entertaining 4-4 draw with another German side in Furth.
Their previous pre-season friendly saw them put English club Leicester City to the sword by a 4-0 scoreline. The Reds seem to be in great attacking form with the likes of Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz, Cody Gakpo, Darwin Nunez, and Diogo Jota all finding their names on the scoresheet.
Furthermore, their two new midfield acquisitions Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister have also seemed to have settled in well and have looked sharp in pre-season.
They will be hoping to continue their rich vein of pre-season form heading into their fourth friendly prior to the start of their league campaign but that will be easier said than done against Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich, who represent the Reds’ toughest challenge yet.
The Bavarians began their pre-season with a 1-2 loss against Manchester City before beating Japanese outfit Kawasaki Frontale 1-0 in their previous friendly match.
Bayern have strengthened in defence following the signings of centre-back Kim Min-jae and fullback Raphael Guerreiro. They’ve also boosted their midfield with the addition of Konrad Laimer and are in the transfer market in search of a top-quality striker.
With an abundance of top talents in both teams, Wednesday’s pre-season friendly between Liverpool and Bayern Munich promises to be an exciting contest as players from both look to put on a good performance while trying to get minutes under their belt and build fitness.
