Jamshedpur FC have announced the signing of winger Ritwik Kumar Das from Kerala Blasters for the upcoming Indian Super League (ISL) season. The 24-year-old has inked a one-year deal, with an option to extend for another year.

Ritwik began his career at Calcutta Customs in the Calcutta Football League (CFL), and then later played for Kalighat MS in the CFL second division in 2016-17. The winger earned his first major move with I-League club Real Kashmir in 2017, and went on to register four goals and two assists in 39 appearances for the Snow Leopards across all competitions.

Ritwik took a leap in his nascent career when Kerala Blasters signed him for the 2020-21 season, his first foray in the ISL. However, the 24-year-old could only muster four appearances in the campaign.

"I am glad to have joined Jamshedpur FC," Ritvik said upon completing his transfer to Jamshedpur. "Owen Coyle is a great coach to play for and his passion and commitment to win trophies is well known. I treasure this opportunity as Owen and Jamshedpur have a track record of pushing young players and I am hungry to prove myself and become a first-team regular," the 24-year-old winger said.

"I look forward to playing for the amazing and loud fans of Jamshedpur and contributing towards winning silverware in this process," he added.

Owen Coyle, head coach of Jamshedpur FC, was delighted to add Ritwik to the roster. "We are excited to have Ritwik on board with us for the season," the English coach said. "He completes a very talented bunch of Indian players for us. He is young and has blistering pace, with and without the ball, which fits well with our game plan and philosophy." Coyle added.

"He has proven himself over the years and his presence will provide further depth to our squad," the Jamshedpur FC said.

Ritwik Kumar Das will don the number 18 jersey for the 2021-22 Indian Super League season and will link up with the squad for pre-season after completing mandatory quarantine at the team hotel.
