Inter Miami will get their Major League Soccer 2024 campaign underway with a home fixture against Real Salt Lake at the DRV PNK Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on February 21 (February 22 as per IST).
Under Argentine manager Gerardo Martino, Inter Miami will aim to clinch their maiden MLS title with the help of a star-studded squad.
The Lionel Messi-led Inter Miami finished 14th in the MLS Eastern Conference standings last season with 34 points from 34 matches. They registered nine victories, seven draws and suffered 18 defeats.
As per MLS 2024 schedule, Inter Miami will face each of its 14 fellow Eastern Conference opponents twice, while also playing six non-conference opponents once each. Each MLS team will play 34 matches - 17 at home and 17 away.
After their MLS 2024 opener versus Real Salt Lake, Inter Miami will play their first away game of the season against LA Galaxy at the Dignity Health Sports Park on February 26 (as per IST).
Lionel Messi’s men will play five league matches in the month of March and four games in April.
The reigning Leagues Cup champions are slated to play six matches in May, the most in a month this season.
Inter Miami will play four league matches each in June and June before the league resumes once again with a couple of games in August.
They are scheduled to play five games in September and the three remaining fixtures in October. Inter Miami will conclude their MLS 2024 campaign against New England Revolution at their home on October 20 (as per IST).
Apart from Lionel Messi, Inter Miami have assembled an incredible squad featuring former FC Barcelona stars Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba and Luis Suarez.
Meanwhile, eight teams will qualify for the MLS 2024 playoffs from each conference, with seeds No. 1-4 in each conference hosting and selecting their opponents in the first round.
In the second round, the highest remaining seed in each conference will select an opponent from any of the remaining three teams.
