The Indian football team will lock horns with hosts Uzbekistan in their third Group C match of the AFC Women's Paris Olympics 2024 Qualifiers second round at the Bunyodkor Stadium in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on Wednesday, November 1. 

The India vs Uzbekistan AFC’s Paris 2024 Olympics women’s football qualifiers will start at 5:30 PM Indian Standard Time (IST).

Under head coach Thomas Dennerby, the Indian women’s football team has lost both their Group C matches and is now out of contention for the Paris 2024 Olympics.

World No. 61 India will head into the Uzbekistan game after losing 1-3 to Vietnam in their previous Group C match at the Lokomotiv Stadium Tashkent on Sunday.

Huynh Nhu, Tran Linh and Pham Hai Yen netted a goal each for Vietnam while Sandhiya Ranganathan scored a consolation goal for India in the 80th minute.

Ranked 34th in the latest FIFA women’s football rankings, Vietnam are currently placed third in the AFC Women's Olympic Qualifiers second round Group C standings with three points from two matches.

Earlier, India began their AFC Women's Olympic Qualifiers second round campaign on a disappointing note as they succumbed to a 0-7 defeat against Asia’s top-ranked women’s side Japan on Thursday.

With six points from two matches, Japan are currently placed at the top of the Group C standings, followed by Uzbekistan with three points from two games.

The top teams from the three groups (A–C), along with the best runners-up will advance to the third and final round of the Paris 2024 Olympic qualifiers to be held in February.
